Redshift Education celebrates outstanding GCSE results at Colchester Prep & High School and Long Close School

Date:

Redshift Education is celebrating an outstanding set of GCSE results at Colchester Prep & High School and Long Close School, with pupils at both schools achieving excellent results and looking ahead to the next stage of their education.

On behalf of Redshift Education, Tim Fisher congratulated all pupils receiving their results today, recognising the hard work and commitment of pupils, teachers, staff, parents and families.

Record-breaking results at Colchester Prep & High School

Pupils at Colchester Prep & High School are celebrating record-breaking GCSE results, with approximately 60% of all GCSE grades achieved at grades 7–9, compared with 22% nationally.

The school has also achieved outstanding results in individual subjects, with 100% of pupils achieving grades 7–9 in both Biology and Spanish.

These results represent another remarkable year for the school and reflect the determination of pupils alongside the dedication and expertise of the teaching and wider staff teams.

Excellent results at Long Close School

Pupils at Long Close School have also achieved excellent GCSE results.

More than a quarter of all grades were Grade 8 (A) or above*, while the school has seen a significant increase in the number of Grade 9s compared with 2025.

These achievements provide pupils with a strong foundation as they move on to the next stage of their education and begin their individual next chapters.

Celebrating more than results

While academic achievement is an important part of school life, Redshift Education believes that results day is also an opportunity to recognise everything that sits behind the grades.

Every result represents hours of learning, preparation and perseverance. Pupils have demonstrated determination, resilience and commitment throughout their GCSE journey, supported by teachers and wider staff teams who have worked tirelessly to help them succeed.

Parents and families have also played an important role, providing encouragement and support throughout what can be a demanding period in a young person’s education.

Tim Fisher said:

“To every pupil receiving their results today: you should be immensely proud of what you have achieved. Whatever your results, today marks the beginning of your next chapter rather than the end of one.”

Looking to the future

For Redshift Education, these results are about more than numbers on a piece of paper. Academic success is important, but so too is developing young people who are confident, curious, resilient and ready for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

Colchester Prep & High School and Long Close School each have their own distinctive character, strengths and communities. Redshift’s role is to support both schools, invest in their continued development and provide pupils and staff with the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.

Tim Fisher added:

“Both Colchester Prep & High School and Long Close have their own distinctive character and strengths, and that is something we are determined to protect and build upon. Our role as Redshift is to support our schools, invest in their continued development and give their pupils and staff the resources and opportunities to thrive.”

Redshift Education extends its warmest congratulations to every pupil receiving their GCSE results today, as well as to their families, teachers and school communities.

We are incredibly proud of all our pupils and wish them every success as they take their next steps.
