Redshift Education represents a new chapter in educational excellence, founded by Mr Timothy Fisher — a distinguished leader in education, investment management, and professional sport. As the leading founder of Stirling Education, an international group of schools with a strong reputation for academic rigour and global perspective, Mr Fisher brings a wealth of experience in establishing and guiding high-quality educational institutions.
He also serves as Chairman of the National Association of Examinations Officers (NAEO). His leadership in international education coupled with formal British examinations brings invaluable insight to Redshift’s mission of delivering outstanding independent education and academic outcomes.
Redshift has been established to support British schools to thrive and grow — both now and in the future — with a long-term commitment to growth and excellence. Its objective is to build a group of UK schools that each retain their unique character while consistently delivering outstanding educational outcomes.
Of course, Redshift refers to the astronomical phenomenon which describes the expansion and growth of star systems bound together as a collective by gravity. However, Redshift was also the name given to an aircraft engine developed in the late 1970s by his father, a skilled pilot and engineer. His grandfather was equally an adept engineer and, in 1937, developed an early prototype of a turbine engine - the Fisher Engine. This early-stage jet engine was gifted to the University of Sheffield’s Aerospace Laboratory in 1989.
Naming the group Redshift Education is both a tribute to his family’s technical legacy and a reflection of the values that underpin the education group’s philosophy. It is an education philosophy rooted in progress, innovation, and belief in every learner’s potential.
